This is a space about the comic book I’ve been working on for over a decade now in various forms called Buckethead.
It’s about a guy who gets a bucket stuck on his head and decides to become a superhero.
So he goes around rescuing cats from trees and helping old ladies across the street. And for each of the issues we’re going to be raising awareness for a particular cause. So for instance, when he rescues a cat from a tree, we raise money for the humane society.
Here is a live action trailer that I created as a proof of concept a few years ago:
I’m launching this Substack as a place for people to get updates about the comic and potentially get access to it if they want.
Just to let you all know, I’m working on some background elements. That’s why there’s not going to be many updates just yet but they’re coming.
Particularly because the plan is to launch a website where you can get everything in one place soon enough. We’re waiting on one more place to allow people to buy the comic before it all goes live.
I love the concept of tying the comic story to an issue in real life! That's brilliant. I especially love the attempt to help a charity. The charity I support through the "Buy Me A Coffee" button on my newsletter is Pug Nation Rescue of L.A., a dog rescue: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/moviewise
My comic, "It's ALL (owl) Good Times" is also about a regular character, a little girl owl, who wants to do good, but is often foiled. It's meant to be funny in a "gag a day" kind of way:
